Cal State University Warren Hall Implosion

Due to the proximity of the Hayward fault line, the 13-story Warren Hall building was deemed unsafe for the earthquake prone Bay Area. On August 17, 2013, Warren Hall was imploded. Scientists planted seismic sensors around the East Bay to study the vibrations of the collapse in hopes of creating a 3-D map of the underground to expose fault lines that extend across the landscape. It is hoped that this new information may help better prepare for the "big one" that is inevitably coming.
